Biography

Alan Weiss (born March 7, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American comic book artist and writer known for his work for DC Comics and Marvel Comics. Alan Lee Weiss began his career at DC Comics in 1971. Later that year, he moved to Marvel Comics on the Avengers, Captain America, Daredevil, Sub-Mariner, and Spider-Man series. Kiss reappeared in an occult adventure (issue #5 of the magazine in 1978) that was written by Weiss. In April 1978, Weiss and writer E. Nelson Bridwell reworked the character of Captain Marvel; Weiss would do the most notable art for this series. Dennis O'Neil and Weiss also created the character Calypso in The Amazing Spider-Man (#209, October 1980). Alan Weiss also worked for Warren Publishing on such famous titles as Creepy and Eerie and for the National Lampoon satirical magazines.
