Marianna Grishina (Magriana)

Marianna, an artist based in Samara, discovered her passion for painting in 2017 following a life-changing car accident. Although she attended art school as a child, her journey led her to various non-art fields before she returned to creative expression. Through both online and in-person courses and private mentorships with established artists, Marianna explored diverse styles and techniques to develop her unique artistic voice.

Her work, deeply rooted in symbolism, often features hidden messages, allegories, and personal narratives drawn from her immediate surroundings and experiences. She frequently portrays her daughter, using this recurring subject to convey emotions, thoughts, and reflections on life. Marianna's creative process involves blending figurative and abstract styles, working with oil paints to create layered compositions that include textures and graphic elements. This approach leaves space for viewers to interact with her pieces, inviting them to imagine and interpret elements within the work.
