Marisa Veerman captures the fragile moment when emotion takes shape.
Biography
Marisa Veerman is an Australian artist whose work explores the intimacy of human emotions through pieces that blend photography, textile embroidery, and delicate varnish, in a deeply poetic approach.
Inspired by the innocence of childhood, fragility, and inner strength, she brings to life evanescent figures, suspended in a state of silence and contemplation. Each piece is hand-embroidered, giving the image a singular texture and an almost pictorial rendering, between softness and tension.
His training in visual design and textiles directly influences his creative process: a unique fusion between image and material, gesture and emotion.
Marisa Veerman has exhibited in Australia, the United States, and Denmark. She received the Clayton Utz Art Award in 2024.
