My art explores the dialogue between the visible and the invisible. Through color, sound, and intuition, I create immersive spaces that invite viewers to discover new layers of perception.
Biography
Vera Klimova is a contemporary visual artist and classically trained vocalist living and working in Vienna, Austria. She was born in Volsk, Saratov Region, Russia. In 2000, she graduated from the vocal department of the St. Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire and began her professional career at the Conservatoire's Opera and Ballet Theatre. Over the following years, she participated in numerous musical projects, toured extensively across Europe and the United States, and established herself as a concert singer.
In 2010, a new chapter of her creative life began as she returned to visual art, developing her artistic practice alongside her musical career. From 2010 to 2018, Vera completed extensive training in academic painting, including studies at the Artika School of Academic Painting, a portrait course, private instruction with Repin Academy professors (including Vadim Chazov), and the Summer School of the Ilya Repin Institute at the Russian Academy of Arts.
In 2012, Vera relocated to Vienna, where she continues to live and work today. Her strong classical foundation informs her work across realism, impressionism, and abstraction. She works in a wide range of genres, including portrait, nude, landscape, still life, and abstract painting, and actively participates in international exhibition projects.
A defining feature of Vera Klimova's work is a bold and expressive approach to color, often described as a “symphony of color." Music plays a central role in her creative process, shaping rhythm, mood, and emotional depth. Sound and color merge on the canvas, creating layered visual compositions that reflect her synesthetic approach to art. Through the synthesis of musical and visual perception, her works invite viewers into an immersive, emotionally resonant space where intuition and structure coexist.
