"Matter retains the memory of time, pigments become layers, painting a trace of the territory."
Biography
Frédéric Henninger explores memory and the transformation of matter through abstract painting, at the crossroads of geology and gesture.
A graduate of DNSEP, he develops a work where time becomes visible: pigments, sand and marble powder overlap like the strata of an interior territory.
Between chance and mastery, his work questions traces, slowness, and persistence. Each canvas is a sensitive surface, a fragment of memory in formation.
Through his mineral and meditative compositions, Henninger invites us to contemplate the material world - where painting becomes a place of passage between nature, memory and territory.
