Biography
Saúl Velázquez de Castro is a Spanish sculptor based in Roubaix.
Trained in sculpture at the School of Arts and Crafts in Valladolid, Saúl was initially destined for religious art in polychrome wood.
His life path finally led him to specialize in bronze work and to bring his devotion to the human bodies of mortals whose flaws he magnifies.
Saúl Velázquez de Castro's work is spontaneous, always improvised. It is his emotions and the material that guide him, with the common thread of strength, movement and the lightness of bodies.
