For his first solo exhibition in France and Europe, Thai artist Kitikong Tilokwattanotai immerses us in a journey through time.
An artist of the abstraction movement, Kitikong takes the viewer into a world where past and present harmoniously intertwine. Inspired by the idea that each moment lived contributes to the construction of our personal history, he captures fleeting moments and immortalizes them in canvases that sublimate the limits of time.
Each of his creations is an open window on his memory, capturing the very essence of the past moment. Remarkably mastering the techniques of acrylic on canvas and lacquering, an ancestral technique practiced in art in Asia, Kitikong uses vibrant colors, intriguing textures and evocative shapes to bring forgotten memories back to life.
But Kitikong's works are not simply frozen representations of the past. They compose mirrors of our own experiences inviting us to reflect on our memories and revisit our lived experience. Each composition is a silent conversation between the artist, the work and the viewer, revealing hidden stories and buried emotions.
Passés composé is intended to be an original artistic experience where past and present merge in a visual kaleidoscope, guided by the limitless imagination of Kitikong Tilokwattanotai.
This exhibition is the occasion of a partnership with the SAC Gallery, Kitikong Tilokwattanotai's gallery in Bangkok. SAC Gallery will present large formats of the artist's work at the Asia Now fair, from October 19 to 22 at the Monnaie de Paris.
Kitikong Tilokwattanotai is an artist represented by the gallery since 2019.
