Lukas Works

Born in 1989 in Abidjan, Lukas is a painter and visual artist whose hybrid practice explores painting, ceramics, textiles, and digital art. Light occupies a central place in his work, seen as a universal language revealing the invisible dynamics that shape our world. Between the visible and the invisible, the sacred and the profane, nature and urbanization, his creations question the fragile and shifting coexistence of our time.

Steeped in a journey marked by Europe, Africa and Asia, Lukas nourishes his work with a diversity of influences: ancestral traditions, totems and indigenous figures mingle with post-industrial fragments and urban motifs. Inspired by the collective unconscious described by Jung and by the instinctive energy of Figuration Libre (Robert Combas, Hervé Di Rosa), he develops a pictorial and graphic approach that is at once spontaneous, symbolic and profoundly contemporary.

Since 2013, Lukas has exhibited in France and internationally—from Paris to Tokyo, Seoul, Réunion Island, and Louisville. His career is marked by notable collaborations, notably with the Manufacture des Émaux de Longwy, a historic institution with which he has been designing unique pieces combining tradition and innovation since 2016. At the same time, he is asserting his place on the global digital scene: a founding member of the SOMA collective, he distributes his digital creations on leading platforms like SuperRare, where his universe resonates with collectors of contemporary and digital art.

Now based in Réunion, Lukas continues his research focused on the raw energies of life and offers a visionary work where mutations and metamorphoses constantly redefine our relationship to space, memory and the collective imagination.
