Biography
Born in 1952 in Leningrad, Igor Andréev is a Russian artist.
During his trip to Canada in 1972, he fled from the Soviet union. On his own, he decided to turn towards painting and make a living out of it. He left for Paris in 1981, where he currently lives and works.
In the 80's and 90's, he realized orders for Club Med and a Belgian sponsor, while simultaneously creating personal works that he exhibited at Beaubourg in 1982, then in several other international art galleries.
Categorized as Neo-Pop art, his figurative works are filled with humor and poetry. He uses simplified shapes and bright, plentiful colors to create a positive and a joyous world. He distinguishes himself through his extravagance and imagination. His art is filled with wonderful imaginary figures which are lively and have a zest for life.
