My name is Atanas Atanasov Danailov, born on March 16, 1973, in the village of Gradezhnitsa, Bulgaria. I am graduated from high school with drawing in the city of Lovech. After "opting out" of military service, there were several attempts to enter the National Art Academy. I was accepted into the "wood carving" specialty, in the class of Prof. Kancho Tsanev, and I am completed my master degree with Prof. Anton Donchev - a luminary in the creative art life of Bulgaria. For almost 17 years, I have been holding back the opportunity to express myself creatively, due to the hard times that befell my family's shoulders. 17 years ago, a medical error mutilates our first child, who was bedridden for the rest of his life. The diagnosis was severe: cerebral palsy - quadriparesis. The doctors gave him a year or two to live, but our love and the round-the-clock care with which we gave him and the God's mercy left Stefan in our hearts for 17 years. The light and love that radiates to us is incomparable to anything. That is why our family begins to live in a completely different way than the normal world. We lived his life. On December 17, 2023, the void in our souls is indelible. I could only pour my soul into the wood sculpture. Thus made a new beginning for me, a collective image of my emptied soul in art.
