Statue of Liberty Artworks

The Statue of Liberty is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. The copper statue was a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States. The statue is a figure of Libertas, a robed Roman liberty goddess holding a tablet inscribed with the date of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. She symbolizes liberty, freedom, independence in America and as such, a lot of artists have come to include her in paintings of a similar moral significance.
