Poésie de la vie quotidienne
La tradition de représenter la vie quotidienne dans l'art remonte au 17ème siècle en Europe, lorsque les artistes se sont détournés des représentations de la royauté, de la religion et des figures classiques. Ils ont alors créé des représentations de la vie contemporaine et des gens ordinaires, connues alors sous le nom de « peinture de genre ». En éliminant tout contenu imaginaire ou idéalisé, les peintures de genre étaient ancrées dans la réalité de la vie moderne.
Depuis cette période, les artistes ont adopté le monde contemporain comme source essentielle d'inspiration artistique. De la photographie à la peinture en passant par le dessin d'art, des artistes de formes et de styles divers recherchent la beauté de leur réalité présente et vécue comme principale source d'inspiration pour leurs œuvres.
