1 / Contemporary sculptures from ZIMBABWE
"The Zimbabwean sculptor movement has been regarded for 50 years as a key element in contemporary art. Currently, many Zimbabwean artists are among the most recognized sculptors in the world. Better known since its origins under the name of art Shona, this art intrigues and seduces by the modernity of the proposed works. You will appreciate the purity of the lines, the contrast of the rough parts opposed to the polished parts, the variety of serpentines used ... »
2 / Hervé MAURY
"He paints animals like landscapes or portraits," living natures ", funny and seductive, in their apparent simplicity. From paper to wood, to ceramics, Hervé Maury turns his enchanted bestiary into a family that complices with everyday life in search of exoticism and absolute poetry.1992, his first paintings sign the beginning of an exciting adventure. He then took part in the Salon de la Jeune Peinture in Paris in 1995, and moved to the walls of Ethik, the boutique-gallery sharpened to the best contemporary trends. The shops of museums (Museum of Contemporary Art in Nice, Center Beaubourg in Paris) will not resist the humor of his little frogs. At the same time, he paints the buzzing world of flies or bees, the silent march of ants or sea urchins, aquatic beasts inspired by markets and harbors from Marseille to Toulon ... Whatever the scene, the technique remains the same: a layer of sands applied in their mixture of colors, grains and matter, contours drawn with charcoal, alternating keys of white and black ... Hervé Maury is a kind of Noé des Villes, income from African countries, with his dreams of journeymen ... "
