Biography

Born in 1956 in Itambé, Brazil.

The child Edivaldo already aroused a lot of admiration at the age of seven, coloring his drawings, inspired by everyday scenes of the lake region around São Paulo, with abundant and varied tropical vegetation.

In the simple and colorful houses, live a happy, party-loving and religious people. Edivaldo got married at the age of 20 and had three children. He managed to be hired by a printer to take care of the layout, which allowed him not only to obtain a fixed salary but also to develop his artistic gifts.

He began his professional artistic career in 1995 when he exhibited at the Jacques Ardies Gallery in São Paulo. He participates in the International Naïve Art Competition at the Jeannine Blais Gallery, in Canada, and in Switzerland, where he exhibits in the Pro Arte Kasper Gallery, in addition to integrating the exhibition Brazilian Naïve Masters, at the Naïve Art Museum (MAN) from Figueras, Spain.

He produced individual exhibitions in the Jacques Ardies Gallery in São Paulo in 1997 and in 2002. He traveled to France in 2003 to accompany his personal exhibition organized at the Jacqueline Bricard Gallery in Lourmarin.
