From the mastery of 3D graffiti to the art of metal sculpture, Éric Vialla transforms volume into a field of aesthetic exploration and free interpretation.
Biography
Éric Vialla began his graffiti practice in the 1990s, specializing in 3D lettering. Over the years, he acquired a thorough mastery of perspective, bringing depth and volume to his creations.
For 10 years he has been focusing his work on metal sculpture, transposing forms from graffiti into the three-dimensional world. He uses various materials such as steel, stainless steel, copper and bronze, which he sometimes combines to experiment with different textures and finishes.
Eric Vialla creates his sculptures without any prior sketch, following an intuitive process. He adjusts and balances the volumes as he goes along, seeking visual harmony and a natural aesthetic.
His works, marked by abstraction, encourage multiple interpretations, giving free rein to the perception of each spectator.
