Laurence Malidor

Laurence MALIDOR, French painter, I was born in 1969 in Fougères (35) and have lived in Eysines in Gironde (33) for several years.

Self-taught and passionate, I paint with instinct and improvisation. Solitary at heart, I like to be imperfect in my creations, I prefer them to be true, raw, coming from my soul without retouching.

My style evolves over the years and I grow at my own pace. I work in my home studio, painting with acrylics, brushes, palette knives, and paint markers.

My favorite theme: the sea, landscapes in marine colors, illustrated with colorful silhouettes. The infinite immensity of the sea helps to highlight the fragility of my human life, the time that slips through my fingers...

The beauty of the sea combines with travel and offers me the opportunity to escape through my paintings with different landscapes. My marine paintings evoke vacations, sunny and carefree days in magnificent settings. The sun, the mysterious blues of the ocean, the seaside atmosphere create an atmosphere of tranquility for me. The sound of the waves and the artistic beauty of the water invite me to relaxation and contemplation. The beach is my playground where I can represent my emotions.

The purity of white and the color blue bring me serenity. Prussian blue has become my ally, creating a sense of strength and security in my paintings. Yellow, the color of joy, warms me like a ray of sunshine, reminding me of a summer day and healing my wounds.

All these moments of sharing with my brushes give me infinite well-being. Painting is my oxygen, my world where I am self-sufficient, which allows me to possess this inestimable good which is freedom. My seascapes, besides signifying life, allow me to see what I want to see, to detect the message which is mine.
