Biography

Painting since the early 1980s, my research is structured around several "cycles" (which my titles recall), some of which were born many years ago: "Letters", "Archived Fears", "Fragments of Sleepless Nights", or "Escaped Lands", for example. The relationship between the material and the support has always informed my practice. In this sense, it is not an "inspiration" that guides my work, but the gestures that are induced by this relationship. I now paint exclusively on paper, mixing techniques: gouache, acrylic, pastel, pigment. My works are mounted on canvas stretchers or under glass. All of my work could be found in this formula, which I owe to Anne Court, "hieroglyphs of the dream", which traces a link between the "vestiges" of writings present in the "Letters", certain "Fragments of white nights" or the "Archived fears", and the "utopian" spaces, dreamed, suggested by the "Escaped Lands", or very recently, "The shadows on the board", allusive evocations of objects, marked by the retinal persistence of Morandi's works.
