Biography
Sculptor for more than twenty years, Lucy Brandy explores plaster and paper mache.
Lucy Brandy creates little beings, at times dreamlike but at times beastly. Towards a vein which raises temptation, her characters flirt around gracefully with heaviness. This swaying is a reflection of how each person is torn between the desire to caress hopes, cultivate dreams, temperate doubts and control fears. The gallery owner, Hubert de Blomac summarizes the artist's works, precisely:: "When poetry takes shape...If Lucette Brandy gives it a skin on the surface, the latter captivates light and allows it to be caressed, the universe offered to us is a gentle one, slightly mocking, soft to touch and with a sweet look. We are relaxed in this familiar universe, with our usual entourage, our favorite animals, characters which resemble us, calm due to the dreaminess of the artist. They don't mock us, they are a fantasy like reflection of who we are, or how others see us".
Her creations have seduced galleries around France: Paris, Bordeaux, Nantes, Orleans…
