Marlene Tyroller

Germany

Color as a language

Biography

Marlene Tyroller is a contemporary painter, living and working in Germany, whose work explores the fundamental polarities of human existence through expressive, gestural painting.

Marlene uses pure color as a language, allowing each hue to vibrate and resonate. Her paintings address the polarities of light and dark, softness and strength, stillness and movement. She seeks to reconcile these opposites in abstract structures, offering a unique perspective on the philosophical questions of life.

Working primarily in large formats, Marlene adopts a rapid and spontaneous gestural approach. Her works are distinguished by layers of opaque and transparent colors and powerful lines that run across the canvas. The artist uses a variety of materials, including acrylic paint, pigments, oil pastels and charcoal, to create dynamic and balanced compositions.
