Biography
If Concrete Art can be seen as the art of omission, André van Lier's works propose maximum tension with minimal intervention. Even though his work is entirely inscribed within the almost mathematical principles of Concrete Art, the result is works that freely occupy space.
Born on 14-8-1951 in The Hague
Studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague 1966-1971
Lives and works in The Hague.
Solo and group exhibitions in the United States and many European countries, such as the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Italy, United Kingdom, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Austria and Switzerland.
André van Lier's works can be found in private collections as well as in museums in the Netherlands and abroad.
Several large monumental works can be found in the public space of his hometown, The Hague.
