Monty Hitchcock started his professional life as an Art Department Assistant on the movie ‘Flash Gordon’. Over the next decades he Art Directed and Designed Hollywood movies and T.V. commercials all over the world. Along the way he picked up numerous awards including an Emmy Award nomination for ‘Cleopatra’, and In 2023 he was recognised by the British Art Directors Guild for his contribution to Excellence in Production Design on ‘Mission Impossible-Dead Reckoning’ with Tom Cruise.
In 2018 Monty was diagnosed with ADHD which catalysed a huge expression of creativity through painting. Monty is the ambassador for visual arts for the UK ADHD Foundation, giving hope and direction to younger generations in The Arts.
Monty has had solo shows in London and Glasgow, featuring in Forbes Magazine as one of the top exhibitions to see in London in autumn 2020.
His Paintings feature in private collections, and high profile public spaces including The Qatar World Cup.
Monty’s paintings are a riot of richly layered line, form, colour and texture. Often using the human figure as a starting point; each painting reveals a story inspired by either personal or world events. Every painting is a unique and original expression of emotion.
