Biography
Guillaume Grando is a multidisciplinary visual artist living and working in Biarritz and internationally. Inspired by organic elements, particularly aquatic worlds, he develops a hybrid body of work at the intersection of abstraction and material experimentation to capture the ephemeral nature of water.
Growing up between the Parisian suburbs, the Mediterranean, and the Atlantic, he discovered surfing at an early age, a practice that profoundly influenced his relationship with movement and fluidity. His career has been punctuated by exhibitions in Miami & Denver, Mexico City, Paris, Beijing, and Shenzhen.
In 2008, he moved to New York, where his work was enriched by architectural and musical influences from across the Atlantic. He finally settled in Biarritz, close to the ocean, to devote himself fully to exploring resin. By playing with this medium, sculpted directly onto the surface of his works, he imprisons the paint and offers a window of deep chromatic variations.
