French multidisciplinary artists creating geometric artworks inspired by Mondrian & Ryman.
Biography
Evrard & Koch are a duo of multidisciplinary French artists, working with their four hands. These two artists exercise their creativity in different domains, such as jewelry, design or sewing, and their work oscillate between architecture, painting and sculpture.
This duo takes their inspiration from artists as Mondrian, Ryman, or even Agam to realize wooden or purified cardboard artworks, in volume, that play with the lines and geometry. Entirely hand made from a mock-up, their artwork use an almost artisanal technique.
Their artwork is build around the essential concept of "outside the framework", a notion that defines as well the impossibility to classify their approach as the absence of limit of their unstructured objects.
Evrard & Koch were exhibited at the Lazarew Gallery at the 2016 edition of Art Paris Art Fair at the Grand Palais.
