Biography

Eugène Druet (1867-1916) is an art photographer born and dead in Paris. After long research he invented his "Procédé Druet" (Druet Photographic Process), signed and embossed on each of his Silver gelatin proof. He made a specialty of photographing the art of his friends, artist painters or sculptors. For each photo the technical process required several hours, beforehand he made different photographic studies taken from different angles in order to best capture the drama and deepness of his subject. His black and white photos have an incomparable style and velvet aspect. Private Collections and Réunion des Musées Nationaux, France, J.Paul Getty, United States, Chtchoukine Collection, Russia.
