Presentation

Thierry Gillieaux nicknamed "Tigi Van Gil" was born in 1966 in Brussels, Belgium. Studies at Ephec and diploma in marketing, Brussels 1987-1989. He moved to Paris in 1991 to study fashion at Esmod, graduating in 1993.

Student at the school of photography and visual techniques, the Agnès Varda school graduated in 1998. He began working as a photographer on 3 perfumes for Givenchy Oblique (Play, Forward and Rewind) for women, magazines, catalogs fashion and videos.

After having traveled and worked a lot for ten years, back from New York and still imbued with the energy of the city, he made his first personal exhibition in October 2009 in his studio, the Tigi's Lab Factory in Brussels and signed his first book of photos “SUPERPOSURE" edited by Michel Husson.

Photographer and painter, Tigi transports us into his fantastic, urban and contemporary universe, whatever medium or technique he chooses to use.

A world where the imaginary meets technology, abstraction and sensation, a slowing down of expressionism or an acceleration of surrealism.

You can also discover his art on the walls of the Bshirt factory decorated around his sphere concept.

His work is constantly evolving, a poetic work in the making where he uses the recycling of glass mixed with resin and paint on his paintings, materializing the invisible. His sphere, which is more than a symbol, has become over time his signature as a digital print. The sphere also gives birth to the Sphere Man who materialize his art in live performance to reach people but also to create his own super hero like a dream comes through
