Lisbeth Delisle, born on April 26, 1935 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, is a French sculptor. She studied at the National School of Fine Arts from 1956 to 1962 in the studios of Robert Couturier and Marcel Gimond.
The artist uses sculpture as writers use words; she tells stories about life, waiting, encounters, separations. She depicts her characters, highlighted by their environment: in the street, by the sea, under a tree, sheltered by the roof of the house.
She has produced the sculpture Tribute to Edith Piaf for the Town Hall of the 20th arrondissement in Paris in 2003. This sculpture can be seen in the Édith Piaf Square.
The artist has a personal style that can be found throughout her work (sculptures, drawings, collages) which reveals a great sculptor of our time.
Her work, at the border between figuration and abstraction, suggests the dynamism of life, is the expression of a subjectivity full of emotions.
Lisbeth Delisle has participated in many group exhibitions and has received important prizes for her sculptures.
