Hashtag Jeff (D-Philippot)

Born in 1972, Jeff Denisse Philippot is a multidisciplinary artist.

Graduated from the Beaux-Arts, he began his career in the advertising world, where he was recognized for his acerbic look on the image and its use. The artist wants to use the image, distort it and give it a new meaning which is poetic, personal and also captivating.

Jeff Hashstag stands out for his important technology usage in his creation process and while realizing collective works, he collaborates with several artists. Since more than 10 years now, he has been working with Thieery Mathieu, with whom he forms the "Jeff and Yoyo" duo, to create works combining several sculpture mediums, video and generative art.

Simultaneously, since 2000 he has been developing a more personal piece. He isn't bent towards just abstraction or figuration. Jeff Hashstag displays dynamic work, where movement is key. The artist makes us discover the notion of time and space, sending the spectator in a state of contemplation and loneliness, which is not only poetic but sensitive too.
