Jean-Jacques Écorce was born in 1946 in Charente Maritime, he began sculpting at 27 years old before turning gradually to painting. He took classes at the School of Fine Arts in Paris where he was a pupil of César and Nadal. He follows an atypical and unorthodox path marked by the current of contemporary figurative art.
His inspirations he finds them in the psyche of dreams, fantasies, in the impulse of the vital energies that haunt him.
Numerous galleries in France and abroad have presented his work over the last 40 years, and he has participated in many exhibitions in museums and public institutions.
