Vatell

Born in Périgueux in 1983, lawyer by training, Vatell has always evolved in an artistic and literary environment. Very early on was attracted to art. This represents for the artist a means of expression which allows him to stage his imagination.

He decided to devote himself to this passion which, over the years, has taken on a major importance in his life.

His works are the result of several influences. He is passionate about nature, travel, surfing and rare and protected exotic plants. Thus, the spectacle of natural elements, their immensity and their power, influences his works in terms of their colors and shapes.

The graphic and industrial side and the medium he uses for the realization of his works, aluminum, are a reference to his paternal grandfather who drew and created industrial machines, which fascinated him when he showed him , in his childhood, his inventions.

He also uses symbols that take on meanings, such as the circle which takes up notions such as infinity, both temporally and spatially or the notion of unity, the unity of men, or the notion of freedom of mind. .

For Vatell, the circle is very positive, it is round and therefore devoid of angles. It is the symbol of well-being, when “everything is running smoothly”.

If it was necessary to summarize his work, the artist seeks to achieve colorful, joyful works, giving an impression of movement. He wants to attract the eye, capture the attention to arouse emotions.
