Presentation

For Marion Roy, for the last 7 years, faces have been emerging from her sheets in a hyper-realistic way, all in black and white, and the progression of this technique tends to show the appearance of the body without hiding its imperfections. For the artist, the ideal and stereotyped body is put forward through social networks and the media: directing the daily life of people who seek a "perfect" body. Marion, on the other hand, wants to highlight the diversity of bodies, which is hidden because of societal stereotypes. This artistic approach is reflected in the drawings in Polaroid format, where body elements are drawn, such as wrinkles, stretch marks, hair, the pregnancy line...

In addition to this message of kindness towards oneself and one's body, her artistic approach correlates with the transmission of emotions through her drawings. It is important for the artist to transmit emotions to people: "each of my works must provide emotions, whether positive or negative".

Her technique is at the service of her artistic approach: to show a hidden reality by transmitting particular emotions. She tries as much as possible to make the drawing real, like a cliché.

The hyperrealism of her drawings requires a lot of patience, meticulousness, rigour, precision and above all a near perfect technique.
