Since 2003, Mami Kiyoshi has been working on New Reading Portraits, her unique project that aspires to be progressive and collaborative. Started in Japan and then in Europe, it's a lifelong work that she continues all around the world. She selects objects telling personal stories of the people she photographs and she stages them at home or at work. Much more than a simple representation of characters, the portraits are, at the same time, social, documentary and aesthetic.
