The artist graduated Vilnius Academy of Arts in 1974, improved his skills and knowledge in Modern Art Studio in New York (1989-1990) and Contemporary Art Studio in Rome (1995). He is an active participant of local and international art life, his works have been showcased in numerous exhibitions and symposiums in Lithuania, Germany, Russia, USA and Japan.

Decorative and monumental sculptures created by Vladas Kanciauskas are inspired by nature and often combine different materials: marble, granite, steel and bronze.

Some of his most impressive monumental sculptures include “Song” (1987, copper, 7 meters high), “Dialogue” (1990, stailess steel, 7 meters high) in Vilnius (Lithuania) and 20 meters concrete sculpture crated to mark the 450 anniversary of Alytus city (Lithuania).

Sculptures created by Vladas Kanciauskas are owned by private collectors in Germany, USA, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania and Israel.

The artist resides and creates in his cosy studio near a beautiful lake in Vilnius region, Lithuania.
