Presentation

Walter Krebs was born in 1900 and was mainly creatively inspired by the growing 1900s and 1910s. The Fauves are generally considered the first major post-impressionist group, working in the early 20th century. With artists such as Henry Matisse in their ranks, the Fauves believed that other bright, worldly colors and energetic brush strokes were an integral part of their work. During the same period, a young Pablo Picasso.

In the late 1920s, he had developed the initial ideas of depicting fractured visions of reality alongside his contemporary Georges Braque. This movement became known as Analytical Cubism. The first twenty years of the twentieth century can be considered the most productive, and are noted as the time in art history when modern and modernist ideas began to take hold culturally. The mechanization of production and the ideas of order and rationality allowed the discipline of architecture to develop at an extraordinary pace, and was embodied in the work of Le Corbusier and Gerrit Rietveld. The Bauhaus was predominant at that time and defined the idea of a discipline common to all types of creative art. Most, if not all, of the philosophies of the major artistic movements that we associate with modern and contemporary art can be traced back to the diverse range of works produced at that time.
