Biography
Yichao Sun is a contemporary Chinese painter born in 1983 in Shenyang, China. A graduate of the Fine Arts School of Shenyang University, he honed his artistic practice during a residency at the École d'art contemporain de Besançon, France. His work is part of the gestural abstraction movement, blending Eastern and Western influences.
Sun explores themes such as abstraction, graphic art and oriental aesthetics, using a variety of techniques, including painting and printmaking. His dynamic and expressive compositions reflect a constant research into perception and emotion.
He has presented his works in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the world, including in Shenyang, Beijing, Shanghai, Paris and Boston.
