Biography

Simone Bordignon-Rozcki is an Italian-Polish artist who has lived and worked in Amsterdam since 2016. He grew up in Vercelli, a small town in Piedmont, where he also studied Fine Arts at the Alciati High School. Like many artists of his generation, video games and cartoons were his first inspirations. Then, in middle school, he discovered hip-hop culture and tried his hand at lettering, which later evolved into more figurative work.

Her artistic approach is defined by the resolution of complex equations, the outcome of which can lead to numerous results - but it is not just "any result" that Simone is looking for.

These equations are composed of factors such as experience, time, meaning, mediums, subjects, compositions, colors... and result in either the opening of a window onto a new world or a new reading of everyday objects and realities. Thus, any element of one's immediate environment can feed the process.

For Simone, creativity is, at its core, a never-ending quest. It arises from a line, a volume, a shade of color—which call to one another, respond to one another, and blend into one another as he explores them—until all the elements come together to compose his works. In the same way, he uses a variety of techniques depending on the inner world he seeks to access.

Simone currently focuses on bronze sculpture in his studio. His work has been featured in several galleries and group exhibitions, including at Go Gallery and as part of the Artists in Residence at The Grand program. He also continues his street art practice and murals.
