Rasmus Michau welcomed us to his co-working space where art is essential to creating a productive environment

The recipe for success? Work, determination and, when possible, inspiring surroundings! Our interview this week took us to see Rasmus Michau, who has successfully embraced these values and applied them to a workplace: The Bureau. There are 3 locations scattered across the capital which offer companies the same services as a hotel. Renting offices with The Bureau allows you to benefit from a concierge service, gym, bar/restaurant, numerous events and above all an impeccable setting, where works of art hang beside furniture from The Socialite Family. We asked the co-founder, himself an art and design enthusiast, a few questions, and he opened the doors to his creative workplace: welcome to The Bureau, Cours Albert 1er Paris 8th arrondissement.
1. What is your latest artistic discovery?
Balder Olrik. A Danish artist/photographer who has exhibited some of his works at The Bureau. I liked them so much, we bought them all….
2. Which work of art would you have liked to make?
I would never claim to be able to replace an artist's talent. That being said, working with Christo to wrap the world's most beautiful monuments would have been fun. Or otherwise, to swap places with Sophie Calle and drink champagne in a bed perched at the top of the Eiffel Tower, with the public reading me poems, like she did for the first Nuit Blanche…

3. What is your favourite museum/foundation?
The Centre Pompidou, both for its architecture and its collection and programmes.
4. What works can we admire at your house?
My tastes are quite varied. I have collected works by Hiroshi Sugimoto and Hans Hartung as well as those of John Giorno and Shepard Fairy. My favourite is Art History which Vuk Vidor dedicated and gave to me for my birthday.
5. Is there an artist that you would like to exhibit at The Bureau?
If I had the budget for it, I think a collection of Edward Ruscha would work very well there.
