Portraitistes Scène de vie
L'œuvre Danseuses bleues (1899) d'Edgar Degas est sûrement l'un des plus grands dessins au pastel jamais réalisés. Sur le papier, les petites ballerines semblent vivantes, on les entendrait presque respirer… Dessiner d'après nature, ou représenter des personnages, est généralement enseigné dans de nombreuses écoles et académies des beaux-arts. C'est pourquoi le pastel, le fusain ou même un humble crayon lancent souvent la carrière d'un artiste. Le dessin est souvent considéré comme le moyen le plus idéal pour les artistes de rendre le corps humain. Il permet à l'artiste de maîtriser la ligne, la profondeur et la forme, une compétence nécessaire pour réussir l'art du portrait. Mais le portrait vivant a souvent pour modèle un corps en mouvement, ce qui oblige l'artiste à représenter l'action musculaire, la direction et la perspective. Et c'est d'autant plus vrai pour représenter l'énergie des danseurs. Si le 19ème siècle est marqué par le talent de Degas, il voit aussi naître l'appareil photo et la nécessité pour les artistes de représenter le mouvement - de photographier la vie. Dans la sélection d'Artsper, les œuvres de l'artiste figuratif Marc Desgrandchamps s'inspirent de la décomposition du mouvement et des expériences chronophotographiques d'Eadweard Muybridge. Pendant ce temps, le travail d'Alejandra Caballero est beaucoup plus introspectif. Il illustre le fait même que les actions les plus calmes et les plus subtiles renferment une beauté que les artistes peuvent sublimer dans leurs portraits du quotidien.
