With the exhibition Be Our Voice : The Woman Iranian Touch, Galerie Maryam Ahi brings together the work of 9 female Iranian painters. Tahereh Afjali and Faezeh Baharloo’s paintings are based on a spring poetry composition and engagement that intertwine social conscious- ness and the dreamlike environmental landscapes of Iran while Mahroo Asgari and Sima Shahmoradi’s works and collages challenge the taboos related to women position, as well as issues they face with political and social freedom with harder propositions. Parvaneh Raza- ghi focus is above all on women inside feelings and psychology, Mina Sabzi’s on transformation of land in Iran by abstract expression. Sahar Salehi mixes intuitive photography, collage and painting processes with a conceptual practice rooted in emotions, memories and history. The concepts of covering up, hiding, and privacy manifest as layered collages, touches, lines, effects. With Claustrophobia, Asal Fallah in an amalgam of the protuberant compositions of dreams parts with un- conventional materials as ink pen and forests she articulates fear, anxiety, loneliness, loss, and inequality in the surrealistic moment.
