The hive is the home of the bees, and by extension the bees that live within it. Conceptually, the beehive is the physical unit that defines the group, the superorganism integrated by all the bees in a colony and their nest. We have purposefully named this show which focuses on bees, beekeeping and honey, “Beehive”; precisely to create a parallel between the artists and the bees, between our gallery and the hive. We were not in the least surprised by the fact that our worker bees have completed the task of focusing their work on a theme that might be distant, or a theme upon which they probably had never stopped to think about. Their foraging through the gardens of imagination and their talents have brought us some amazing pieces that invite us to delight, much like honey does. Here we have this first attempt, which we hope won’t be the last, to congregate some of the most talented Bolivian artists to deal with a theme that is one of the dearests for the lovers of nature and its miracles.
