Corpus Lineae

Paris From February 2, 2022 to March 2, 2022

Presentation
Creative Industry Only will invest La Montgolfière Club in Paris on February 2nd for the group show « Corpus lineae ».
Through installations in order to unfold around a vital energy and a choreographic whirlwind.
The three artists probes the expression of bodies through different media: painting, videos and photos, they meet and complement each other around figurative works where abstract forms allow to play a score of colors.

The exhibition :
°From the Latin Corpus means physical structure of a living organism, materiality of being. Essential or main part of a material or abstract structure.
°Lineae designates an elongated topographical formation, dark or light, curved or straight, on the surface of a planet or a natural satellite. The term comes from the Latin name lineae which designates a thread or a drawn line.
Corpus Lineae reflects the body lines of constant poetical and structural connection, metaphorizing this correlation through visual art.

The artists :

°Joséphine Leddet is a photographer and artistic director based between Paris and Barcelona, whose work transcends the boundaries of fashion, architecture and documentary photography. His works are imbued with a feeling of serenity.

The series she produced with dancer Francesca Pey is an ode to women and movement. Creating a feeling of static movement, where shadow and body become one.

°Hadrien Durand-Baïssas is a 29-year-old artist of French origin living and working between New York and Paris. Trained in visual arts, graphic design and art history, he has recently pivoted to more experimentation with new mediums that merge the worlds of design and technology. Currently developing a series of interactive light installations, he focuses on creating multi-sensory and immersive experiences that can be shared with the public. These new projects are imbued with a sense of wonder and nostalgia for a not-so-distant past where technology and innovation were intertwined with humanity's most utopian ideals. As a figure in the contemporary surrealist art scene, he invites viewers to step out of their everyday reality and into worlds of fantasy and imagination.

Challenging dualistic abstractions is a central theme of his work. As audience members become active participants in the creative experience, the boundaries between observer and observed dissolve. What was once separation becomes unity. Friction turns into alignment. The harmonic balance is restored.

°Rio Gilmer-Goncalves was born in New York on March 28, 1996, he grew up in Paris, having both Irish and Portuguese parents. His work spans a variety of activities, ranging from painting to music, design and installations. His "Metamorphosis" series is characterized as a semi-abstract and semi-figurative representation of different social interactions. There are several faces made from a plurality of lines and dots that intertwine. Each face intertwines with another, like a kind of metamorphosis. The way the spectator will position himself and move, the shapes, counter shapes and lines will evolve with their perspective. Also, depending on how the artwork is placed, the shapes and lines that form the faces will evolve and metamorphose into something different with a new expression.

His "Bal de skema" series, on the other hand, uses the same principle as the "Metamorphosis" series with a slight variation: It is scrutinized; The lines are thicker, more distinct and more regular.
This is a close-up from the "Metamorphosis" series, involving a different technique.
Colorful spots add a lively touch, they can be eyes or personalities, or just a glow of color in our lives. Here we can see different faces with thick lines, as if we were "zooming" the series "Metamorphosis". Depending on how the artwork is placed, the faces will morph as if transforming and changing their facial expression over time.
