Immediately, the originality of his paintings captures the eye. Long-necked female characters, surrealist collages, interiors in pop colors, the universe of the artist Sandra Paris is solar, luminous, facetious… “I am an autodidact who never imagined fulfilling her dream of becoming a painter." And yet it is indeed a real artist, sensitive and creative that the Atelier Espace Unique has discovered. Inspired by Modigliani, the Fauves, the German expressionists, Sandra Paris knew how to build her own universe where flat areas of bright colors, geometric shapes dialogue with the curves of the human body...

The artist makes fun of conformism and academicism. She paints without constraint on iconoclastic and poor supports: tea boxes, milk and fruit juice packs. The flattened packaging gives unexpected cutouts in which the artist invests both the front and the back. “I have always liked to recover objects and transform them. I appreciate that the supports react differently to the paint, it's always a surprise. In her first personal exhibition at the Atelier Espace Unique, Sandra Paris shows a beautiful series of superheroes as well as collages made on playing cards, small precious pieces that are already collectors' items.

She combines old photos, shocking phrases taken from the press in surprising and terribly accurate compositions. “To create my collages, I let myself be guided by colors and shapes." These unexpected combinations of images, patterns and words create pungent pile-ups, they lend mystery to the composition. The artist has fun surprising the viewer, she tickles our imagination with relevance.
