Thiá Sguoti

Thiá Sguoti is a non-binary person and multimedia artist with a degree in Visual Arts, whose research involves his professional experiences in the advertising market and his experiences and reflections as a trans person amid the world and the arts.

Sguoti has a costume brand where she makes mermaid tails and has gained presence and notoriety in Brazil and also creates paintings, objects and installations that merge her two worlds of activity in the art market.

The artist recently joined the inaugural exhibition of the first Transgender Museum of History and Art in Brazil, MUTHA, and has participated in group exhibitions such as the 25th Salão de Artes Visuais de Vinhedo (2020) and the 69th Salão de Abril (2018), in addition to the solo show "Limites do Inconsciente" (2016) at Centro Cultural Raul de Leoni, in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro and fairs such as SP-Arte 2021.

Thiá has also worked with Venezuelan artist Suwon Lee. Since 2021, the artist has participated in the follow-up and research group in contemporary art at Ateliê397, Clínica Geral, mediated by Thais Rivitti and Raphael Escobar.
