Heather Ann Chapple
Canada • 1953
Presentation
Heather is a Canadian-born Thailand-based abstract colorist, with a practice that moves fluidly between genres.
Currently inspired by late 20th Century abstract expressionism and contemporary artists Ed Ruscha, Katharina Grosse and Sam Gilliam.
Heather brings an interest in fusing materials and methods with a passion for layering which gives her work a bold energy.
I focus on capturing energy and movement on the canvas whilst removing all preconcieved notions of composition.
Most recent work is focused on utilising a varied palette to represent my life as a whole whilst giving insight into the profound extremes of the Asian experience.
