ArnaudMartin

Born in 1990, Arnaud Martin is a visual artist working with mixed techniques, more particularly watercolor and India ink. He is currently based in Île de France, in Montesson and is part of the Ateliers de la Boucle.

His training in applied arts at ESAG Penninghen (2009) will strongly mark his work, in particular by learning academic drawing.

Artistic approach : 

Through the colors and the lines, we are immersed in a narrative universe charged with sacredness and symbolism.

The human being is at the heart of the works and his presence immerses us in the universe allowing him to fix a scale as well as a temporality. We can often see him alone as living a story on which we would have an external point of view. It therefore represents the context, emphasizing time and place. This story is that of the initiatory journey, the discovery, the accomplishments and the overcoming of man in the face of adversity and mystery.

Plastic approach: 

"It all starts with travel sketches. During all my travels and visits, I draw what inspires me. Through this process, I memorize the architectures, landscapes and objects that I later transcribe in my creations on in large formats and freely. 

The watercolor perfectly serves the spontaneity of the creation, leaving room for surprise and plastic effects, while the pen and India ink define the areas of precision with fine lines. The whole creates a harmonious contrast: that of the precise against the misty, of the light against the dark, of the calculation against the random, of nature against human construction."
