Julkowski

Ms. Julkowski works in series, inspired by her environment. This series on urban landscapes allows her to approach a season that she likes for its sustained contrasts and its bright and saturated colors, the summer.

Recently, she has been concentrating on the human being in the city and she captures fleeting moments ("urban vibrations", "convergence",...), small everyday moments in which she paints women sitting at a café terrace. They are single women, independent, firmly anchored in their time.

The painter is particularly fond of contrasts that make her paintings vibrate, contrasts in the values or temperatures of the colors, but also in the material by alternating thick oil paint that she applies with a knife or, on the contrary, very diluted paint that she sprays or drips so as to obtain "uneven" areas that come to oppose the more worked areas, especially those of the facial expression.

She uses all kinds of tools, brushes, spalters, knives, rollers, fingers, combs...
