Presentation

Represented by the IDA MEDICIS Paris gallery. Loïc Jolly was born in 1963 in Paris. In 1984 after a stint at Applied Arts Olivier de Serres, he entered the same year at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His works have been presented in several personal exhibitions, notably from 1996 to 2006 at the Galerie Arcade-Colette at the Palais Royal; But also during collective exhibitions such as at La Maison-des-Arts in Créteil in 1981; in Lyon (drawings by artists – the pier 1995); at La Grande Arche in La Défense in 1997 with “Ouverture, Regards du monde." or at the Salon du Dessin et de la Peinture à l'eau in 1998 at L'Espace Branly.

During personal exhibitions at the Arcade-Colette gallery, his work had been the subject of several articles (by Marc Hérissé and Lydia Harambourg) in the Gazette of the Hôtel Drouot. The figure is one of the defining elements of the work he pursues with determination. Whether it is human presence, landscapes, or recomposed places, his painting bears witness to a spatial energy and an attentive look at the world.

Alongside this career, Loïc Jolly also participated as a painter-decorator in the production of numerous sets for theatre, opera and cinema.
