Biography
Of Asian origin, Ching Yi Lin grew up in Taipei, the capital of the island of Taiwan, which embodies the fusion of tradition and modernity. She works her calligraphies on rice paper or linen canvas. She uses numerous brushes brought back with her from her travels in Asia. She writes in Li shu, Cao Shu and Xing Shu styles, depending on her inspiration and the theme she wishes to explore. Meditation is central to her artistic practice, combined with breath and gesture.
