From high-smooth tapestry to sculptures in space in boat ropes, from the infinitely small and the infinitely large to intaglio engraving, from typography-image to copper sculpture, there is only one 'a step. “Born in Poland, Barbara Debard graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw and the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Coming to France in 1957, she obtained the First Prize for Dramatic Art from the National Conservatory of Music and Dramatic Art in Lille.

She then successively runs numerous workshops in Tehran, Baghdad, Durban, Suresnes, Paris. From 1979 until 2005, she was director of thirty-one workshops in the 3rd and 14th arrondissements of the ADAC (Cultural expression and neighborhood workshops of the town hall of Paris).

A flowering of official distinctions (Academic Palmes d'Or and Gold Medal of the Leonardo da Vinci International Academy, Rome 1985; Grand Prix Centro Internazionale di Cultura with Gold Medal, abstract composition, Rome 1986; Silver Medal of the city of Paris 1988; Silver medal of “Arts-Sciences-Lettres” of the academic society of education and encouragement 1994…) crowned his work of artist.

Barbara, who wrote: “I am like the estuary of a river, a body with multiple arms…”, is one of the free women on the planet. She knows how to face deserts, cross oceans, live in cities.
