Presentation

The subject of the market garden greenhouse is the starting point of a painting taking the veil and its erasure as the leitmotif. Paul Vergier thus tries to redefine landscape painting as a kind of space of lack. The landscape appears as a disordered image where reality is cut, folded, veiled. Plastic tarpaulins, makeshift tents or agricultural tools all evoke the work of form, of reality, of the surface. These motifs question the space of the painting, of seeing, of looking, of blindness, these constituent dimensions of any representation.
