Jérôme de Viers

Jérôme de Viers, graduated of Sciences Po Paris and Fine Arts, Jérôme de Viers has been pursuing a dual career for twenty-five years in finance and publishing and artistic expression (painting and writing). With regard to the pictorial expression, the idea, the general concept are at the beginning of any composition. Then comes the time of the performance. 

The imagination at the controls, the drawing of the shapes is done in a single jet, the dimensional effects created and the coloring performed. To achieve the final work, Jerome resorts to a succession of techniques from the simplest to the most sophisticated. Fleeing repetition, he conceives each painting as a reinvention, a new beginning, starting from a blank canvas and making a clean sweep of previous works.

In this joyous figurative chaos, we can identify some recurring themes: verticals, plural dimensions, acts and feelings or primary forms. Some aesthetic constants: explosiveness, rhythm and vibration. Forms, curves, bold colors and unexpected dimensions must express the original idea in a vibrant, imaginative and explosive way.
